Von Trapp family escapes across border into pentraceland...

Rogers and Hammerstein, I believe. I don't know whom to apologize to first.

My Favorite Pens

Big nibs on Parkers and levers on Sheaffers
Crescents on Conklins and cool writing papers
Black chased hard rubber, though heat gives it bends
These are a few of my favorite pens.

Cream and black Wahls, with no hint of an amber
Dorics and Carters and Chiltons and Lamberts
Flexible nibs on Gold Bonds with bright ends
These are a few of my favorite pens.

Radite and Stonite and Bakelite and Rubber
Permanite and Celluloid I like to discover
Big fat behemoths that set fashion trends
These are a few of my favorite pens

When Mont Blanc cracks
When Omas skips
When new pens miss the boat
I simply unlimber my fine vintage pens
And write them a naaaaaasty note!

When You Bid Upon A Pen

When you bid upon a pen
Makes no difference what or when
On ebay is where I'll lurk
To out-bid you

If your heart's set on a dream
No reserve is too extreme
When you bid upon a pen
I'll out-bid you

I'm the sniping kind
I'll bid with only a second left
You'll be completely bereft
Of the pen you wanted

So that pen of lapis hue
Will ship to me and not to you
When you bid upon a pen
I'll out-bid you…

While you were in that Emerald City, Dorothy...

Ah, I've always liked Ray Bolger.

Music ("If I Only Had a Brain") by Harold Arlen. The original lyrics were by: E.Y. Harburg

If I Had a Fountain Pen

I could while away the hours
Takin' Private Reserve showers
Writin' snails now and then...
On my artwork, I'd be scratchin'
And the shadows I'd cross-hatch em'
If I had a Fountain Pen.

I'd have nibs as big as chickens
And thin as well as thick'uns
In Stub and Fine and Sten...
Id' draw Beany along with Cecil
And write books like old Ted Geisel
If I had a Fountain Pen.

Oh, I could nearly cry
To see the prices that new fountain pens command,
I could buy a great big house upon the shore
And a second car for the kid next door.

I would'nt need a Michel Perchin
Just an Estie'd suit this urchin
Or a Namiki with its Zen.
I could write for Halle Berry
Or draw Michael Jordan hairy
If I had a fountain pen…

Wild Pen...

Posted by Stuart Williams on April 20, 2002, 3:33 pm

"Wild Pen" – by Thoth 2002 after The Troggs (Wild Thing)

Wild pen
You make my head spin
You make everything...flexxy
Wild pen

Wild pen, I...think I love you
But I wanna know for sure
So come on, I’ll hold you tight
I love you

Old pen
You make my head spin
You make everything... flexxy
Old pen

Wild pen, I...think you move me
But I wanna know for sure
So come on, I’ll fill you right
You move me

Gold pen
You make my head spin
You make everything... flexxy
Gold pen

Come on, come on, wild pen
Shake it, shake it, wild pen

(To be sung while wearing a kaftan and flares and smoking something interesting ;0)
